About Kate.
Kate Williams is an interdisciplinary artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
Drawing inspiration from her love of light, shadow, and object manipulation, Kate’s work primarily explores the interplay of reality and deception through visual illusion and spatial relationships.
“Ultimately, my work serves as a catalyst for introspection. There is something so fascinating to me regarding the innate recesses of the human psyche when it is challenged by doubt. By activating these recesses and questioning the nature of reality through my art, I aim to provoke cognitive dissonance and internal conflict. This conflict serves as an invitation for the viewer to embrace the vast possibilities that lie beyond the confines of conventional understanding and comprehension.”
Kate holds a BFA in Interdisciplinary Art from SUNY Purchase College, and an MPS in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute. She plans to pursue a PhD in Art Therapy Research and Neuropsychology in hopes of helping to bridge the gap between art and science.
